For vehicle care products, some changes have not yet been published in the criteria document (Good Environmental Choice Chemical Products 2018:4)

Cold degreasers for professional use

Cold degreasers for professional use are exempt from requirement 1.10, provided that they meet the requirements below:

Volatile organic compounds shall have a vapour pressure < 0.05 kPa at 20°C or have a watersolubility > 5 g/l. Complex distillation products shall have a vapour pressure < 0.025 kPa at 20 °C. Aromatic organic compounds (aromatic hydrocarbons) may not be included in the product. Exceptions exist for residual products of aromatics and fragrances below certain concentrations.

Exception: Aromatic organic compounds (aromatic hydrocarbons) may not be added to or included in the product. As a rule, however, normal paraffins and dearomatised naphtas contain aromatic hydrocarbons amounting to one or a couple tenths of one percent, which is accepted. The concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons in the added raw product (solvent) may not, however, exceed 0.5 %.

The applicant company must submit technical documentation demonstrating that the requirement is fulfilled.

In addition, the applicant company must sign a Letter of intent (Avsiktsförklaring in Swedish). The template (in Swedish) to be used for this can be found under the heading “Criteria and License Terms”
